Ishmael Portfolio: Poster
Due April 25 at 5pm
With your group, create a poster explaining some of the main ideas from Ishmael to a general audience. This should be a large image that conveys what you think are the most important messages from the book. You will post your poster (one per group) in a class blog so that your classmates and the rest of the world can view it. Be sure to include your group members’ first and last names in the post. Your poster should be creative (don’t just post an image of a gorilla), insightful (send an important and meaningful message), memorable (make it stand out from the rest), related to the book (be sure you’ve read it thoroughly), and well-done (create a high-quality, high-resolution image).
Be sure to take some time to browse the posters posted by your classmates after the assignment is due.
Your poster will be graded according to the following criteria:
|
Artistic Excellence |
Is it beautiful and visually appealing? Does it look cool? Is it of professional quality? Is it put together well? Does it look crisp, clean, and impressive? Would I hire you to make a poster in the future? Will it get people’s attention as they scroll past it? |
|
Inspiration |
Is the poster inspiring? What effect does it aim for, and does it have that effect on its viewers? Are viewers inspired by it? Are they moved by recognition of the dangers of humanity’s current path? Are they likely to be motivated to action? |
|
Accuracy |
Have you accurately depicted the ideas of the text? Do you get it? Is your understanding of the material correct? Is this clear from the poster? Have you succeeded in communicating the depth and sophistication of Ishmael’s ideas through the poster, without overwhelming the viewer with details? |
|
Creativity |
Does it stand out among the rest? Is it unique? Have you put your own twist on it? Have you utilized your strengths creatively? Is the poster your own original creation? |
